With Undying Gratitude

It is with our deepest thanks that we honor those who came before us. Below are some of the incredible canines that helped build a brighter future, so that others may live.

Bogan | Handler: Ann

Bogan started with Western Maryland K9 in 2016 as a young puppy and was operational from 2019 until he passed the torch to his understudy, Tokkie, in 2023. During his time in the field, Bogan worked with all the grit and independence one would expect from an Australian Cattle Dog, and made friends everywhere he went. Now he is enjoying the retired life, acting as co-pilot during travel to seminars and training events, but rarely has to exert himself more than sharing lunches or snacks with the team. He can be found representing the WMDK9 at community events, and loves meeting new people, so be sure to say hello if you see him around town!

Finnegan | Handler: Claudia

Finnegan was WMDK9’s first nationally certified air scent canine. He responded to multiple deployments during his tenure brought smiles everywhere he went with his joyful Airedale antics. Claudia and Finnegan’s tireless work were integral to what makes WMD the team we are today. Our current canines are honored to follow in Finnegan’s steps. Dearly missed now and forever, EOW 2025
